Can We Reduce the Costs of Industrialism?

The oppressiveness of much of the work performed by blue-collar workers is imbedded in the very structure of industrialism. My objective here is to identify these structural features and suggest their effects on the organization of work. For if we wish to ease the oppressiveness of work, we must find ways to change these structural features, which persist under both capitalism and socialism.
