Q: In a book about the McCarthy period Victor Navasky praises Dissent for its intransigent opposition to McCarthyism—I almost get the impression that you fellows did something heroic in those days. How did it feel in the 1950s to be attacking McCarthyism at a time when a lot of others were taking cover?
