That science can serve as a “front” for sinister interests and that science can play the whore are shocking statements, doubly so in this time of the apotheosis of Albert Einstein. Yet citizens of a liberal democracy, in which many important social decisions are made on the basis of “scientific” reports, ought to be aware of the extent to which those statements are true.
