Michael Tomasky’s comment on the decline in crime rates in America’s cities is a simplistic attempt to blame the left for all that has gone wrong in American politics since the 1960s. Tomasky disingenuously espouses the notion that it was “urban liberals and progressives” who were responsible for the dramatic rise in the crime rates during the past thirty years.
