I started to read the article “Are American Jews Turning to the Right?” [by Bernard Rosenberg and Irving Howe] in your Winter issue with considerable interest. I stopped reading it before the end of the very first page when you referred to “those Jewish intellectuals who wish to keep the liberal community within the centrist camp of such politicians as Hubert Humphrey and Scoop Jackson.” You lost me then. First of all, I don’t like the denigrating attitude toward Hubert Humphrey.
